Master data for IDP Capturing
Master data forms the foundation for all inbound processing in our Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). These structured datasets define key business entities such as customers, suppliers, products, and materials. Without complete and correctly formatted master data, we cannot reliably process or capture inbound documents like orders, confirmations, invoices, or delivery notes.
Why master data matters
Each inbound document undergoes validation and mapping against your master data. This ensures that all captured information is meaningful, accurate, and correctly categorized. If master data is missing or incomplete, IDP capturing will not be possible.
No master data – no IDP capturing.
To avoid processing failures, it is essential to provide and regularly update your master data in the required standard format.
Key master data types
The following master data types may be required, depending on the inbound document type, for example:
Process | Customer Master | Customer ShipTo | Product Master | Customer Material | Keywords | Supplier Master | Open Orders |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
ORDER | X | X | X | X | (X) | - | - |
ORDER CONFIRMATION | - | - | - | - | (X) | X | X |
INVOICE | - | - | - | - | (X) | X | X |
DELIVERY NOTES / ASN | - | - | - | - | (X) | X | X |
- X = required
- (X) = optional
- – = not relevant for the process
👉 You can find detailed requirements, formats, and submission guidelines for each master data type in the corresponding sections of the Generic Master Data Guideline available in the Product Documentation Center.
